I’m back! I can’t believe it’s been over two years since I last posted on this blog. I stopped because it was a really busy time in my life. I had just gotten married, sold my condo, bought a house, and went on my honeymoon all in a six month time period. I was physically and especially mentally exhausted at the time so I decided I to take a break.
When I thought about blogging again, I couldn’t decide what to write about. I didn’t feel like I could write anything here that would help anybody, and for that I felt deeply discouraged. I decided to take a break until I could find inspiration again. I didn’t think it would take this long, but I came across two things recently that reignited my interest in blogging.
The first thing I did was read a book called “The Happiness Equation.” From this book, I learned to do things for myself. I cared too much about how many people read my posts or commented, that I felt discouraged when I wrote something that didn’t get the result I was looking for. From now on I will treat this blog just as a journal of my own ideas of the various options to riches and if it helps people, that’s just an added bonus.
The second thing happened very recently when the company I work for brought in a company to host a learning session about investing and financial well being. There was no shortage of false and potentially harmful information being presented. It was at that moment that I felt the need to get back into personal finance blogging. I hope my unbiased views can bring clarity to people who have been led astray by the finance industry.
When I revisited the old Options2riches blog, I didn’t like the format of it so I decided to wipe everything out and start fresh. From now on, I will number each post as an option to riches. I want to do this because it illustrates the point that there are many options to financial well being and each person/family will need to find what works for them. I believe that most families will only need to implement about 5 of the topics I’ll be writing about to be on their way to financial well being.
With that in mind, I hope whoever is reading this will want to follow along, ask questions, and make recommendations on any topics they would like covered. I will be making a new post every Thursday until I run out of ideas
